-MAKENA-

“END THE CURSE, REMEMBER ME”

The tribe was hidden deep within a forest, a forest that held dark secrets. Tribe members lived under the protection of a majestic and mystical tree. They believed this tree to be their guardian deity, and tribal leaders would gather around this sacred tree from time to time to offer their prayers.

The most striking member of the tribe was a young and beautiful woman named Makena. However, Makena's beauty stirred jealousy and hatred among the other women. Everyone's focus was on Makena, and many didn't admire her but rather resented her. There was unrest within the tribe, and harmony had been lost between the men and women.

One day, a terrible catastrophe shook the tribe. The protective sacred tree had failed to shield the tribe, allowing some of its members to become prey to wild animals. This tragedy, on top of the existing discontent, led to a belief that the tree had abandoned them. When all the people gathered in fear to worship, they were horrified to find the once-majestic tree with withered leaves, broken branches, and lost color. Tribal leaders prayed and conducted rituals to stop this disaster, but nothing worked.

The tribe's women began to blame Makena's beauty for the misfortune. They believed that all the tree's beauty had transferred to Makena, weakening the tree as she grew more beautiful. Their jealousy was so intense that they convinced everyone to sacrifice her, including the kind-hearted and selfless Makena. She agreed because she wanted the tribe to live in harmony again.

The tribal leaders organized a gruesome ritual. They chose a young man from the tribe to carry out the execution. Unfortunately, he was in love with Makena, but he proceeded with the act, thinking of the tribe's future. As he bound her to the tree, Makena gazed into his eyes and uttered the words, "End the curse, remember me..." The young man, driven by the thought of the tribe's future, took her life and tied her body to the tree's trunk.

However, things did not go as planned. The malicious intentions of the tribal women, their selfishness, and ugliness of spirit, were not cleansed even by Makena's death. Over time, they realized that Makena's death did not end their troubles. They eventually understood that the true curse lay not in the beauty of the young girl but in the spiritual ugliness of their own hearts. Most of these women were the wives of tribal leaders.

Fearing the young man would go mad and harm them all, the tribal leaders concocted a lie. They claimed they needed to retrieve Makena's spirit from the sacred tree to appease it. In reality, they planned to kill him as well. The treacherous scheme seemed to be working, and just as the young man was about to fall victim to a deceitful attack, an incredible storm erupted around the sacred tree.

Makena's spirit, now devoid of beauty but adorned with the tree's enchantment and the negative emotions of the tribe, was unleashed in the tempest. The beautiful Makena stood before the leaders as a horrifying and terrifying spirit. The frightful spirit led to the death of the leaders in that storm, and their bodies were devoured by insects. Makena's storm threw tree branches into the village, spreading terror. The storm trapped everyone in the tribe, and they were fed to insects while still alive.

Makena had died for the future of her tribe. When she was resurrected, she became the executioner of her tribe...
